Wednesday August 5th approx 7:30am. I.V. is placed and Pitocin is getting ready to roll. Things progressed very well. I wanted to experience labor for a little bit just to see what the pain would be like.
For the first few hours the pain was very tolerable. A lot of pain was in my back and down my legs. Nothing that I haven't dealt with before. So I thought it was ok. My water was broke at 8:50 and the bad contractions didn't start yet till about 11:00 or so. At this point I still wasn't using the epidural medication but it was there if needed.
Then I went from a uncomfortable contraction to holy hell. Just like that within one contraction it started. He had descended and it was time to get ready to push to see how things had progressed. I was none too happy. Because I waited to push my button to receive meds I was behind which meant I was feeling everything for a good hour.
But oh well I got what I asked for...To see what it was like. So about half way through pushing my medication had kicked in. Thank goodness. I ended up pushing for about an hour and at 12:57 Maximus Thayer Novak was here!!!! YAY MAX!
I have to say that going into the labor totally freaked and not wanting to go through labor, I actually enjoyed the experience. I was very very lucky. Now if I had to experience this like most moms for hours and hours on end then well this post would be a different story. Therefore I am most fortunate being able to walk into the process being 6cm dilated and 80% effaced. CRAZY!
So with all of that being said I would like you all to meet Max.;-)
